Poor Management Skills, Family Dollar #03653

Family Dollar Store #03653 I purchased a 12 volt battery. All they had were 2 in a pkg for $4.00. I bought them, not realizing that the pkg had been opened prior to my purchase(stapled back together). The batteries did not work. I took my receipt and batteries back to the store. I was in line, and the woman that was at the register told me to get in the next line that had about 7 people. I said no I am not waiting in another line, I wanted a refund, and she could put it on my debit card or what ever. Manager came up, which I did get a refund, but Mgr. kept my receipt, I asked for it back because I had purchased other items. She refused to give it back to me, and had the nerve to tell me I was rude. I told her I thought she was being very rude, and I would not be shopping in that store any longer(which I spend a lot of money on household items there). She said good, don't come back, and I told her I was going to report her being rude, she said she did not care.

Bad manager

TThe manager at the Hondo familydollar all she does is hitch about the employee that she has they never have there work done and since the number one ***.manger is a family friend he done get written up when he done do his job. This manager let another store manager from lytle come and *** with a man that is not het husband . We all know but never said anything . As a familydollar shopper im going to start shopping else where so what should her boss's do about this manager careless duties at work . She shows up two hours earlier then anyone else and then tells everyone if she has time to do all her work even with customers will of course she is there two hours before they open.

The manager at the store in Harrodsburg Kentucky is an extremely rude.

Someone should seriously check to find out what that person does all day. The manager and assistant manager stand outside front door most of the time smoking cigarettes. The customers have to walk through the smoke to get into the store. The store manager makes fun of black people. One time she was talking in a loud voice and was bragging about defrauding the food stamp program and laughing about it. She is extremely rude to employees. Please someone in corporate check into this person!!! Send a secret shopper or something. Shopping should be a pleasant experience not a nightmare.

Movie was damaged.

Went to return a damaged movie at the Chadbourne, NC store. First the manager said we did not purcthe movie from there. After proving that we did by the movie from there he did not give us a full refund. The movie was on sale for a dollar cheaper than the purchased price. We paid $10.00 dollars without tax for the movie and were only refunded $9.61. This was the manager and he said this.was all he could do. Will never purchase anymore movie from there! He still did not believe the movie was purchased from there lucky we found another one on the shelf.

Family Dollar Pittsfield Mass Poor People Skills

What is with the employees at this Family Dollar at 631 North St in Pittsfield, Ma? They never heard of HELLO and THANK YOU and May I help you? This happens almost everytime we have shopped at this location. Just ask a simple question to a clerk in the aislethat is following you or the cashier daydreaming--- "where is product X as there is none left on the shelf"... watch the face expressions you will get and the wisecrack answers ie. .."Hey, new products come in SUNDAY NIGHT" ( aisles are blocked with loads of unopened boxes..."we don't work 24/7" ( why not? maybe you should HIRE night crew). And what's with the 5.00 off coupons AFTER you make your purchase? Lots of exclusions phones, cards, etc and coupon is printed AFTER you pay. We would have used the 5.00 of on 25.00 or more if they coupons are available as you enter not exit. Avoid this oddly run store if possible.

I like that store. Ot has a WIDE bariety of products...food...diapers...toys and almost everything u need for the house.

Ive never had a problem with the staff and they have always been polite. Go to the other one if u dont like this one.

Guess u have to know how to deal with real people. O wait its the only dollar store around

CHOMPING GUM MANAGER WITH PHONE ALWAYS IN HAND

THE WOMAN WHO I ASSUME IS IN CHARGE AT THE CONNELLSVILLE PA. FAMILY DOLLAR IS COLLECTING A PAYCHECK WHILE CHOMPING ON HER GUM AND TALKING ON THE PHONE. THEY NEVER WEAR NAME TAGS SO CAN'T TELL YOU HER NAME BUT IN HER 40'S AND ALWAYS HAS GUM AND THE PHONE IN HER HAND. SHE DOES NOT SPEAK TO YOU LIKE THE OTHER GIRLS DO JUST HOLLARS OUT ORDERS TO THE OTHER EMPLOYEES ACROSS THE STORE. I TRIED CALLING THE OTHER DAY TO SEE IF THE HOURS HAD BEEN CHANGED SINCE ANOTHER FAMILY DOLLAR NOW CLOSES AT 8 PM INSTEAD OF 9 PM. TRIED CONSTANTLY FOR OVER 45 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!! WENT INTO THE STORE THE NEXT DAY AND THERE SHE WAS COMING FROM AROUND THE REGISTER WITH GUM IN MOUTH AND PHONE IN HAND. SHE WAS CALLING SOMEONE. Stop Harassing Muslims

This is te second time that I have had to cmplain about the store at Jefferson and Cherokee in Saint Louis. he situation quickly grew out of hand and your employees knew tey were wrong. So they tok off their name tags before I could identify them. But it happened at about 10:15 this morning. The main perpetrator was a little semi fat ad very ugly balck grils of about 35 ears old. She was wearing an obvious wig, you know te usual low life *** that you hire. She told me that I could not wear m Islamic attire in the store. And before I could respend you had te nerve to try to block my way ad grab at my arm to keep me from etering te door.. Please advise your people that for their own safety they can NEVER touch a customer. That is just common sense which most of your employess do not seem to have any common sense. So tell them not to do that. Somebdy is likely to slap the *** out of them. If there is a problem their ONLY recourse is to call the cops. Two, this is neigborhood with a significant number of Muslims. About half of us wear Islamic attire in public all the time. The dumbest *** in world can see that I usualy always wear Islamic attire, including head weAR, SHIRT, ROBE AND TROUSERS. There is no room to be misaken by this. I am not going to stop to please ay Christian or Jew. That stpid lady harassed me for no other reason than secatrianism. I watn you to stop harassing Muslims. First and foremost, the employee had no right to stop the customer from entering the place of business.

Second, by even getting so close as to touch her was incredibly inappropriate and in no way is how a place of business should represent itself.

I hate to tell you this, but do you suppose your poor attitude could have something to do with your treatment in the store. If you actions are the same as the way you posted, you have a lot to learn about getting along with people.

Just because you are a Muslim doesn't entitle you to special treatment. My opinion is that Muslims dress the way they do, hoping to get special treatment.

All in all in made some really derogatory statements about the female clerk, as if it was your right to put her down. Did the person that touched your arm injure you or was it just a light touch.

Very rude and unprofessional

On October the 2, 2012. I entered the Family Dollor in Dale City, VA. I stopped at the front register to inform the cashier I have a return and can I leave the bag with him. He replied its ok to take it with me. I told him I did not have my receipt, he said it was ok. When I went back to the register Sandra the Manager approached and asked what was going on. The cashier informed her I was doing and exchange. In a rude and unprofessional tone she told me I am suppose to leave bag up front. I told her I tried to but was told it was ok to take it with me. She then spoke unprofessional to the cashier. She rudely ask me to come to the other register and she would help. When we were reproaching the register she told me again. You was supposed to leave the bag up front. I told her she was being very rude and should not speak to customers as she was speaking to me. And that this is not the first time she has been rude to me. She responded maybe you just have a problem with me. I told her that I am a retail manager myself and I would never speak to a customer in this manner. I told her she should probably retrain the cashier and she told me she was not the only manager. I asked can you just finish my transaction. She said if you are a Manager you should know better. Then I asked her why are you still talking about this can you just finish my exchange. Then she threw my money on the counter. I told her that was very unprofessional and I will be calling corporate. She said go head do me a favor and call right now. She told me to fill out the return form. At that point I didn't want to have anything else to do with her. She just wanted to go back and forth with me instead of just handling my transaction so I could leave. I did not complete the return form I just wrote name. Her last remark was you are a manager and this is how you fill out a form. I have never been this pissed off and treated so badly in my life. No more shopping at the Dale City store 06070 with Sandra.

Family Dollar unprofessional and rude

Family dollar on south park & louisiana streets is truly unbearable to shop in. With it being the only store close in the neighborhood, most of us have no choice. There will be a manager and a cashier working. With THEIR KIDS! All lined udup in strollers on the side and the older ones running around eating and drinking stuff from the shelves and playing and opening the toys. It was insane. And this was 1 week ago. On top of a spanishmusic/talk show blarring over the store souns system. My husband couldn't even hear me talking to him. We just left our cart and walked out of the store. This is every day! Huh! Now I know why I don't get hired when I put aps in all the time. Someone has to do something about this. I've called the store manager and she hung up on me. Come to find out, she was allowing this. Please help and clean this up!!!

It is called Family Dollar----maybe for a reason. It might be the closes store to your neighborhood, but that doesn't mean it is the only store to shop in.

Problem with manager

Approximately three weeks ago I entered the Family Dollar store locate in Dexter, Maine with a "personal needs voucher" from the township and set about collecting the personal items that I had listed with the ok from the township General Assistance Director. After I was done, I went up to the cash register and proceeded to put my items up on the counter. After I had done that, I handed my voucher to the clerk. The clerk had apparently not handled a voucher before and went to the manager, whose name tag said her name was "Robin". Well, to put it mildly, she went NUTS on me. To make a long story short, she went into a tyrant and blasted me for having a voucher and that she would not accept it and that she had had nothing but problems with the township in getting reimbursed for any items purchased with the aforementioned vouchers. She flat out told me that she and Jean Jacobs didn't see eye to eye when it came to these vouchers and the lack of timely reimbursements. So, what I ended up was buying the personal items with my own money, which amounted to $45.00....Also, I later went back to the Director and told her the story. She told me that this was not the first time that this had happened. She had had problems before and had told people that they could try there but they might not have any luck there. Later on I was talking to someone and they told me that they had overheard this "Robin" tell an elderly man who had taken in a voucher to "get the *** out of the store" with his voucher. This was the straw the broke the camel's back for me.. I felt that I needed to email a statement that this is not just a "once-in-a-while" situation. I have gone into this store on many occasions and she has presented a personality of someone who seems to be quite "negative" and not quite the best "fit" in this kind of people-oriented environment. I have gone into the Dover-Foxcroft, Maine store and everyone has been more than pleasant to me, everytime I have gone in. I LOVE to go there. I feel like family. They remember me there. At the Dexter, Maine store (and I LIVE there), there seems to be a "chill" in the air, so I have started not going there as much...Think about it...Do you think...I might not be the ONLY one?...Thank you for your time to read about my complaint....Bonnie Morrison, Dexter, ME

Rude and unprofessional

The cashier's name LeDetra at store #07977. I find it very rude and unprofessional when I get to the register to pay for my items and the cashier is on her personal cell phone. She doesn't speak to the customers until telling them their total. This has happened in the same store and by the same person on more than one occasion. This is very disrespectful and inappropriate. I don't have any interest in her personal life or the drama her friends are going through. Something needs to be done. I'm to the point of not returning to any family dollar stores.

It is no more disrespectful than when the customer does the same thing. Believe me I have seen plenty of customers doing the same thing, but I have never seen a cashier do so.

That manager at Family Dollar in Butler,Ga.

He is not a very good store manager. Last week he was out of the store every day. Monday morning I went to shop and the floors was dirty and shopping carts sitting in the aisle with items still in them. he be outside the store on the phone instead of being inside the store. He is always on the computer instead of doing his job.I know to be true because I see him do it. I think he need to be fired because he don't do his job. And he try to talk to the employee any kind of way and I know this to.

NO CUSTOMER SKILLS

I stop by Family Dollars today on N Martin L King Jr Blvd Pontiac, Michigan 48342 maybe about 12:30 in a very good mood. The cashier ring my items up i looked at the amount and told her right away there must be a mistake on my bill, she was like oh i already tooked it off and brushing me off. when i looked at my receipt she had made a mistake and charged me for one item twice, I went back to her and told her, she did not say I am sorry, she just started to ring up other people which then the line got long very quick. I said so I have to wait until you get finish with all these people she tells me yes because i do not have the key. Ok but still have not call her supervisor, I say oh my god, she say I don't have to be rude. OMG she was being rude. and getting smart with me because of her mistake. No Customer Skills I did complain right away to here supervisor i felt that she did'nt care. All I CAN SAY YOU ALL NEED BETTER CUSTOMER SKILLS.. AND IF I HAD A 1800 NUMBER I WOULD BE CALLING THAT TOO. I AM PISSED...... make sure you look at your receipt because if you don't you may get ripped OFF.

I went shopping at a local Family Dollar and the person that checked me out seemed to be in a lot of pain. I asked her what was wrong and her reply was.. I just had surgery a few days ago. I asked her why was she at work her reply was, I really did not have any choice. My manager was short handed and could not get ony one from amother store to come in and help. I really can not see why a store with as many stores they have localy could not manage to find someone to help. I am so sure she was at work before she even seen the doctor after sugery. WHY? I am not sure if I ever want to go into the store ever agian. This store has been in our town for a long time. Maybe the casier is afraid to loode her job. So where can I go to find a agency to refer her to. People If you own company please take care of you employees. They are the heart of your bussiness!!!

@nikalseyn Obviously you have never been forced to work for a company that truly does not care about their employees. I, too, took a job at the Family Dollar store in the tiny town I live in just to make ends meet.

Family Dollar is one of two employers in this town and the next town is more than 50 miles away. I twisted my ankle at work in the stock room because it was overcrowded and there was no place to walk safely. I had to work with a support on my ankle for three weeks because I was told that "you can find another job if you take time off." Yeah it's a minimum wage job, but it is one of only 15 jobs in this town. So get down off your high horse and have some empathy because you are the kind of person that makes up the Family Dollar ruling class.

BTW, I do have two college degrees and was forced to move to this depressed area after losing my job and my home in the city and I could not afford to live there any longer after 911. One day you may be in the same situation and you will have "little" problems just buying food.

It's still a free country---of a sorts, anyway and the girl is not being forced to work there. Working at a dollar store is not a career anyway.

Time for her to quit and move up in the world---assuming she has any qualifications beyond working at a dollar store.

Why would you want to get "the government" involved in a private matter, anyway. The government cannot solve all your little problems.
